“Champion of Hope” are are influential leaders within the East Texas Community that have a personal story about their own or friend or family member’s cancer journey. They also have a passion to support the ACS mission and help raise funds. Funds support Cancer Research and Patient Services.

Chris Ables

Vice President, Ables-Land Inc.

Chris was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and he is honored to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society so we can further develop medical treatments to fight this awful disease.

Vicki Briggs

Executive Chair of Bioceptive, Board Advisor, Community Volunteer, Bioceptive

Vicki is a 10yr cancer survivor. She is raising funds in memory of her father, her mother’s sister, and dear friend, and to raise awareness on the importance of screening especially for women to get their mammogram.

Tessie Cain

Business Development Manager, Sunbelt 

Tessie is a “Champion of Hope” in memory of her father that passed from pancreatic, liver, and bone cancer.

She also had 4 aunts and uncles, along with her maternal grandmother that lost their battles to cancer.

Tom Krieg

Owner, Krieg & Associates Protective Services

Tom’s company has been our private security for Cattle Baron’s Ball for the last couple of years.

He is honored to be a “Champion of Hope” to help raise funds in memory of both his parents who passed from cancer.

Christi Lampkin

At the age of 38, she was diagnosed with double breast cancer and one of the hardest things she’s ever faced.

Many people battling cancer don’t have the resources, emotional support, or financial stability to get through such a challenging time. That is why she is raising money for ACS!

Barret is honored to be a “Champion of Hope” to raise money in honor of his mother who beat cancer just this year!

 

David Lockridge

David’s company L&L Asphalt graciously sponsored the Cattle Baron’s Ball in the past and this year he is a “Champion of Hope”

He is raising money in memory of his sister, Jeri, and in honor of his father-in-law, Dan, a breast cancer survivor.

 

Dayton Longfellow

Dayton is a 2nd year “Champion of Hope” and he is raising money in honor of his Papaw who is 98 and Cancer free and his sister who is 33 and cancer free!

 

Kaylee Martin

Director of Marketing, The Judy Kunzman Team at Keller Williams

As a cancer survivor herself, it forever changed her life and she vowed to do what she can to help those facing cancer and to help raise money to end cancer for everyone.

 

Lana Miers

Owner, Hair by Lana Miers

Lana is raising money in honor of herself who is a uterine cancer survivor and mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor.

For many years, she helped organize and run the Relay for Life of Henderson County alongside her mother-in-law, who originally started the event in our area.

Weston is a 2nd year “Champion of Hope” and part of our HALL BUICK GMC Family that graciously donated a new truck for our raffle this year.

He is raising money to help fund cancer research and patient services.

Steven is honored to be a COH because cancer has affected so many lives.

He is raising money in memory of his mother-in-law who lost her fight to breast cancer. And in honor of his father-in-law who beat prostate cancer.

Mundo is a 2nd year “Champion of Hope” and has supported ACS for many years. He hosts a golf tournament each fall that benefits ACS.

He is honored to raise money in memory of his mother, Felicita.

Karen’s life changed forever when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma cancer last year.

She is raising money to help others facing cancer.

 

Jayme Fitzpatrick

Jayme is a past Tyler Cattle Baron’s Ball Chair and we are truly grateful she is a “Champion of Hope” this year.

She is raising funds in memory of her dad’s mom, Grandma Janie, who passed from colon cancer and her mom’s dad, Pepe, who passed from acute leukemia.

She is also honoring her childhood best friend of almost 30 yrs, Lauren, who lost her battle from breast cancer way too young leaving behind 3 young daughters and her husband. She wants to do her part to help find a cure!
